Ali Hamlin-Paenga (Te Aitanga a Mahaki, Ngati Kahungunu) CEO Ngati Kahungunu ki Poneke Community Services (KWS).
Ali is an accomplished senior professional with more than 15 years’ experience in the Social Sector.  Ali has a proven background in operational management and leadership in challenging goal orientated environments. She has experience in establishing and implementing visionary business strategies and driving performance levels with a background in mobilizing teams to achieve sustainable outcomes. Ali is effective in multisector environments building and maintaining relationships and influencing best outcomes through an equity lens. With a high level of confidence and the ability to walk in both Maori and non-Maori domains, she has been able to promote culturally intelligent service delivery models by successfully articulating both worldviews. Graduating from her MBA in 2017 her thesis focus was “Is tikanga a valid model for strategic planning in New Zealand business?” This has supported much of her work in her current role as CEO to KWS. Ali is now completing a second thesis as part of a Masters in Advanced Leadership Practice, “What are the leaderly behaviours that contribute to the procurement process to end homelessness in New Zealand. This thesis takes on an autoethnograhic approach drawing on  her experience in her role as CEO of NKKP.  It seeks to explore the anecdotal and personal experience of the  cultural, political and social factors of procurement processes to end homelessness. Ali is also a member of the Geneva Health Maori Advisory Board.
