Janie has a background in community arts, engagement, writing, communications and theatre. Her current role is with social enterprise Be Collective, as a community development manager. Her current thinking includes decolonising funding, shared impact, and advocating for authentic participation that includes power.
She recently participated in the PSA’s Progressive Thinking series. You can read her article about community here. Her chapter looks into the ways we rethink our roles and responsibilities in a COVID environment. Janie has two Masters’ degrees from Victoria University: scriptwriting and one international development (Pacific climate change adaptation and linkages with ‘development’). A new CNW executive, she is looking forward to advocating for the Wellington community. |
